Visual Merchandising (FB#5)

A great way to catch a customers eye is by having a great window display! In order to have a great window display the store has to keep up with the trends and season. They must show the current trends put together in an outfit. This will make the customers more likely to buy a certain item because they have ideas of what to put it with. At my last trip to the mall I noticed some really great displays.

The window display at J. Crew was great because it showed a lot of spring accessories and decorations such as butterflies. This window display makes customers excited for spring shopping even though it is still so cold out!

I really enjoyed the window display from Kara because of the chic look for spring. The look was very minimalist and had great bright colors in the clothing and the bright red wall. It was very vibrant and interesting.

In the fashion industry we have many different terms and sayings that are unique to our industry. When writing blogs, articles, etc. writers incorporate these terms to describe anything fashion related. It catches readers attention while still keeping things fashion related.  One trend that I am seeing everyone and I love is fur vest! This is one trend that I am seeing on so many stylish New Yorkers especially now in the frigid winter weather! There are so many different types of vest I've seen  brown, black, even burgundy vests! They can be short, long, real, or faux. They are also very versatile you can pair it with a dress, or leather leggings, or just about anything!

Pastels Get a Face Lift (FB #2)

Every Spring it's a different pastel. The same pastels that colored your puffy Easter dress when you were five.

But for spring 2016 get ready for a new updated stylish and hip pastels! A crisp refreshing pistachio mint color will brighten up structured patterned dresses and skirts. Get ready to look clean and sophisticated in tweed, woven, and jacquard fabrics. This look will be classic, neat, and put together. Because these looks are more structured and loose fitting it will be important to add light feminine accessories to soften the look.

Another revamped pastel will be powder lavender. This may seem like a very soft flowy color but when used with structured suits and T-shaped dresses. This trend will make your soft spring outfit into strong high powered looks.
