Michael Kors Instagram (FB#9)

Social Media is huge outlet for retail companies. They reach customers on their favorite social media website by showing them beautiful pictures with little words. It does not look like an ad but it shows the companies products. By doing this it does not annoy the the customer by showing ad after ad but instead it gives the customers an artful picture. Michael Kors has a great instagram page. Some of their photos are shown to every instagram user whether or not they follow the account. This is a great way to gin more followers and get the name and products out to more customers. Here are some pictures of the account

Here are articles regarding the instagram account.

  1. Hi Laura! Great post. I agree instagram is the best way for companies to promote their products. I think Michael Kors does a wonderful job at presenting their products in a creative way that appeals to their target customer through the use of instagram. The articles you found were very interesting! Here is another one that speaks about the presence of Michael Kors on instagram, and their efforts to sell through this platform.

  2. Loved your post and agreed with it! It was very similar to what I said. What's great about Instagram is that the simplicity of it is so convenient for the consumer. Meanwhile they are getting advertisement for their company, but the usual Instagram follower doesn't look at it as an advertisement because they chose to follow the Instagram page. I loved the bright spring related colors used in the third instagram picture you posted!

  3. I agree Instagram is becoming the best platform for fashion businesses to reach new and old consumers. But recently, Instagram have been injecting advertisements to recommended users. Don't know where this is going, but hopefully they can reduce the ads. Overall, great post!

  4. Cool post! I like your shots from the account. I agree with what you had to say about bombarding consumers with advertisements. I think Instagram is a great and non-invasive way to show products to consumers without making it seem like a forced advertisement. You may appreciate this article I found on Forbes, I found it quite interesting I had no idea so many retailers were utilizing social media, around 91% of them have a social media account!!
