Instead of the usual fashion show Vera Wang presented her Spring 2015 Bridal collection through a video. When thinking of brides, and wedding gowns one would picture happy people, bright colors, the whole shebang. But Vera Wang's portrayal of weddings and wedding gowns seems to be very eerie. The video consists of four models wandering around a dark and scary woods. The hair and make up is very plain and bleak almost haggard looking. They all end up in some type of all and dance around and it ends with black rose petals falling around them. The song playing in the background is whimsical yet dark.
This video is powerful. Instead of the usual fashion show this video makes people think and look closely at the details, it makes one want to watch it over and over again. I think, that because of the ugly and dark settings and background it makes the wedding dresses stand out and show their full beauty and potential. It is a very interesting take on wedding dresses it is the exact opposite of how people picture weddings, and wedding dresses.

ReplyDeleteVera Wang has great bridal gowns and I’ve always admired her womenswear collections too. However, this video is strange. I think it comes across as creepy and dark. It is certainly eye-opening, but I don’t think it shows off the gowns well enough. During the video, I dont think I saw even one dress in full view.
